Welcome to Wickersley School and Sports College

The Sixth Form at Wickersley is big enough for us to offer a wide range of courses, but still small enough to enable us to focus on students as individuals.

About us

As part of an 11 - 18 school, the Sixth Form benefits from high quality teaching that understands how to build on students previous knowledge and skills.  Sixth Formers have their own study areas and common room and benefit from the ongoing investment within the School.

We have a proven track record of success with Sixth Form students.  Last year, 98% of A Level students obtained grades A-E with 54% at A-B and 20% A*/A.  These results continue to rise.

We place a strong emphasis on individual tutor support and believe that success comes best from a three-way partnership between students, parents and the school. To support this we make regular contact with parents; including progress reviews, reports and parents’ evenings.

All students have their own personal tutor who supports them in every aspect of Sixth Form life. Alongside this, subject teachers build good working relationships with students.

We have a dedicated Sixth Form Team that is there to help and support and always willing to add to the support offered by tutors.  With clear and informed Careers and University help and advice, the vast majority of students achieve their preferred University choice, including Oxford and Cambridge.
