Welcome to Cobham Hall *Fees Payable*
Cobham Hall is a leading Independent Boarding and Day School for girls aged between 11 and 18 - a place of learning and discovery within an inspirational environment. The School was recently rated as ‘Excellent’ by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate (ISI, February 2015) in all key areas, including pupil achievement, teaching, pastoral care, extra-curricular activities, and personal development. You can read the full report on our website, where you will also find more information about the School, and how to apply.
Based in a 16th Century Manor House once belonging to British nobility, set in 150 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Cobham Hall is a member of Round Square. This world-wide association of schools follow the principles of education formulated by Kurt Hahn and focus on personal development and responsibility through service, challenge, adventure and international understanding.
Girls are able to enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities, both on-site and off, including netball, hockey, athletics, tennis, rounders, swimming, trampolining, dance, aerobics, and horse-riding, choir, Chamber Choir, and instrumental ensembles, cookery, a variety of art workshops, creative writing, languages, Model United Nations, and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Individual tuition is also available for tennis, speech and drama, and musical instruments, and girls are able to take LAMDA and ABRSM examinations.
Students in our Sixth Form will study a broad programme based around A Levels with a range of complementary courses, designed to develop the skills valued and required by universities and employers. The course has been designed to allow the capability to meet the individual needs and interests of students, for example providing the opportunity for international students to improve their English in readiness for examinations and university entry. The programme of study has been developed to provide increased flexibility to suit individual girls’ needs while retaining the important and much valued elements of the School’s ethos. The core elements of the course are: A Levels, Extended Project Qualification, Global Critical Thinking, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or Service, and Sport.
We strongly believe that this combination, with a continued focus on challenge and the individual, will bring the best out of our girls, provide them with the best opportunities and enable us to strengthen our commitment to service and adventure.
The motto “There is more in you than you think” symbolises the overall aim of Round Square: that if girls step outside their comfort zone, each one can find the extraordinary within her. At Cobham Hall, this is what we aspire to help every girl discover. The majority of our students go on to accept a place at their first choice university, and we routinely send girls to top universities.
