Cardinal Langley RC High School is a voluntary aided 11-18 mixed comprehensive serving the catholic community of Middleton. We welcome students who are not of the Roman catholic faith, particularly into our Sixth Form.
The school is popular, oversubscribed and steadily developing. Described as 'good' in the Ofsted inspection of 2011, the school has also benefitted from a £15m investment through the Building Schools for the Future programme. At present we are close to
1,100 pupils roll, including 150 in the sixth form. This makes the school large enough to offer the fullest range of courses and learning opportunities aimed at meeting the needs and aspirations of all our pupils.
Our purpose is to provide students with a caring catholic environment in which they can flourish and develop into the adult christians of tomorrow.
Cardinal Langley's success is built upon the philosophy of St. Jean-Baptise De La Salle, where the emphasis is placed upon community, relationships and on the value of each individual. All that we try to do is clearly rooted in Gospel values and is designed
to enable each individual to grow in maturity, faith and love.
To achieve such aspirations, our expectations of all our pupils are very high. Attitudes and values based upon self respect and respect for others are reinforced through clear guidance in relation to appearance, academic achievement and success in such
diverse areas as expressive arts, sport and service.
Our relationships with our partner schools are very important to us. Through our local parishes, primary schools and parents' network, we aim to keep all parents fully informed of progress, achievements and experiences.
i look forward to meeting you in person and will feel priveliged if the following important years of your son or daughter's development are shared with us at Cardinal Langley RC High school.
