Each year Calderdale College’s Higher Education and Professional qualifications students celebrate the successful completion of their course with a graduation ceremony held in Halifax town centre.
The celebration event starts with graduands and staff being gowned in preparation for the ceremony. VIPs, Graduands and College staff then proceed from The Town Hall, led by a brass band, to the Victoria Theatre. Roads are closed to traffic during the parade and many watch the parade and support the graduating students.
During the celebrations, the College presents three Inspire Awards to members of the local community who through their business or voluntary activities are an inspiration to others. After the ceremony there is the chance to relax with friends, family, other students and staff, as well as have official graduation photographs taken. Calderdale College has numerous students graduating from a Higher Education or professional qualification each academic year.
