Welcome to Gillingham School

We have a very successful Sixth Form. You will be encouraged to do well throughout your time here and can expect us to always challenge you both as learners and as people. There is an excellent care and support
structure which increases your chances of getting good grades and completing your programme of study.

We value and encourage all of you and give each of you a minimum target grade to try to exceed. Additional learning support is offered by experienced teachers to all students and we provide specialist teaching for students with learning difficulties as well as support for individuals with a disability or long term medical condition.
There is a mature and friendly atmosphere in our school created by giving students more personal responsibility. It has been compared to the ‘half-way house’ between school and university or employment. We work together on the basic principle that we should all treat each other in an adult way and respect and value each other’s individuality.

Learner success

Year 13 Art students this year have continued the success of previous years in gaining places at prestigious Art Colleges around the country. Students have been accepted for Foundation Diplomas at Central Saint Martins, Falmouth, Oxford Brookes and University of Brighton and some students have gained places directly onto degree courses at the institutions. We are really pleased to see the perseverance students have approached their work with has reaped such rewards.
