Welcome to Tring School

About us

Welcome to Tring School.

We are a mixed comprehensive with a large and vibrant Sixth Form and have an excellent academic and pastoral record; we are very proud to have the largest Sixth Form in Dacorum and that in our Ofsted report the Sixth Form received the classification of 'outstanding'; our aim is to maintain and surpass this status. The ethos of the Sixth Form is one which places great emphasis on individual needs and pastoral care to ensure that each student is successful.

We have a rigorous system of tracking student progress and invest quality time with intervention strategies. Ofsted state: 'Students' progress is monitored effectively and they are well supported to ensure they meet challenging targets' Outside of the classroom we also provide many opportunities for students to grow as individuals and learn life-long lessons. Ofsted state: 'Their personal development is outstanding and a strength of the school...they develop confident articulate young adults'.

All senior students contribute to the school community and wider community; and in recognition they work towards Bronze, Silver and Gold Community Help awards. Students also have the opportunity to secure one of the 50+ posts of senior responsibility and leadership.  These are highly sought after positions offering a wealth of experience whilst at school and providing lessons for later life.

Most of the students go on to Higher Education after Year 13. Our success rate at Advanced Level and BTEC  in recent years has meant that the majority are able to go to the university or college of their choice. Throughout this process we work closely with the students. Ofsted state: 'The care, guidance and support provided for the students in the Sixth Form is exceptional'.

Should you require any further information on our Post 16 provision, please see the Sixth Form area of the school website. We are pleased to welcome you to our Sixth Form and look forward to assisting students with their Post 16 education.
