Welcome to Rosebery School

Rosebery School is a highly successful girls’ comprehensive school for students from 11-18 years old. Our students are a pleasure to work with; intellectually curious, empathetic and fun, they continually challenge themselves to achieve demanding objectives which leads to great personal success. This is coupled with a body of incredibly dedicated and passionate staff who are driven to deliver the best possible provision to our students, to help them all overcome their personal challenges to ensure all doors remain open to them, and to empower them to achieve their dreams. Our expectations are high and as a result of a stimulating and enriching curriculum and our celebration of personal success and individual talents, girls acquire skills of leadership and teamwork, become confident and enthusiastic learners, develop varied sporting, creative and academic talents and are thoughtful and valuable citizens. We have appeared in the list of the top 100 performing non-selective schools in the country since 2012 but as a school we continually strive to improve on our previous best, never taking our success for granted. We seek to maintain a calm, happy and purposeful school environment based on an inclusive culture of mutual respect. Central to this is our partnership with parents which we know is crucial in helping students achieve their full potential. We are proud of the members of our community, our facilities and our standards of achievement and believe that every girl should and can excel whilst in our care. This website aims to provide you with an insight into the values, character and ethos of the school, but to fully appreciate what Rosebery has to offer, we warmly encourage you to come and see us at work. You are welcome to visit us at any time during the year.

About us

Finding the right programme for you is vital, so we work hard to ensure sufficient information, advice and guidance (IAG) give you a secure base on which to make your selection of courses. Throughout your time here at Rosebery Sixth, you will have the support not only of teachers, tutors and the Sixth Form Team (including Heads of Year 12 and Year 13), but also of our careers and advisory staff to help you plan your pathway beyond the age of 18. We believe that we have a balanced curriculum which offers something to almost every Year 11 student, whatever their interests and talents. “The Sixth Form are very well prepared for the next step in their education including entry to top universities.” OFSTED, January 2013.

Entry Requirement 2017 - 2018 Students wishing to enrol at Rosebery Sixth Form must have achieved 6 GCSEs Graded at 4(C) or above including English Language. In addition to this general entry requirement, many subjects have further specific requirements which should be carefully noted from the subject pages later in this prospectus. Students who do not achieve Mathematics GCSE at Grade 4 before joining the Sixth Form will be required to continue to study Mathematics in Year 12.

NB - Some courses may not run if there is insufficient interest. In some cases, if numbers are low, we may be able to offer the A Level with a reduced number of lessons.
