Welcome to Fearnhill School

Fearnhill is a forward thinking and caring school, committed to giving students the best possible opportunity for leading successful and fulfilling lives.
We believe that everybody at Fearnhill is of equal value.
Our aim is to engage all our students in the education process so they attend, enjoy and contribute to life here at Fearnhill. In this way they can be fully prepared for life inside and beyond school. Fearnhill is embarking on a period of growth and development and this website will present you with a flavour of the Fearnhill experience.

We are committed to our partnership with parents and the wider community to ensure the well being of our young people and their development as confident, purposeful and well educated citizens.

We hope that you will enjoy reading about the community and activities at Fearnhill school.

About us

Fearnhill has a flourishing Sixth Form with an extensive range of courses. We work in close collaboration with the other partners of the Letchworth Consortium.

There is an academic tutorial system where individual students are monitored and supported in their studies by members of staff. There is a full programme of activities to help our sixth formers create their own future and give significance and drive to their learning.

Helping everyone to develop their own special talent is important to us. Sixth formers are encouraged to learn social responsibilities in many activities related to the running of the school.

There are numerous theatre trips, art gallery visits and sporting events to enjoy. We have a wide range of educational visits to places such as Prague, Barcelona, Paris and Estonia. There is even an expedition to Brazil.

Facilities available

If you have lessons at both The Highfield School and Fearnhill a free minibus service will operate between the two schools, and will follow the same timetable every day. As the schedule is quite tight, please make sure that you are in the right place at the right time. You will be issued with a bus pass at the start of the school year should you be in this position.

When you are attending a lesson at your Consortium school (not your registered school) during periods 1 and 2, you will be expected to make your own way there on time for the start of period 1. If you have a lesson away from your registered school in the afternoon, you will be expected to make your own way home at the end of the school day.

For students attending lessons at Knights Templar School a taxi service is provided under the same terms as the bus service between The Highfield School and Fearnhill.

How to apply

If you want to apply for courses, you will need to contact Fearnhill School directly.
