GCSE Results 2015
Wales High School is once again extremely proud of the efforts of our students in achieving a fantastic set of GCSE results. More students than ever before achieved the highest A*/A grades and overall performance improved yet again with 65% of students gaining 5A* – C grades including English and Maths.
Headteacher Pepe D’iasio commented that, ”The work of our students and teachers has resulted in a superb set of results for the students. More than 1 in 2 students achieved an A*/A, whilst almost every student achieved at least 5 GCSE passes”.
There were several really impressive individual performances including George Woodward (10A*’s & 1A), Ryan Fox(10A*’s & 2A’s), Hannah Baird(8A*’s & 1A) and Brandon Fletcher(7A*’s & 4A’s).
A Level Results 2015
We are delighted to announce that our students this year have achieved the highest A level results in the history of the school. Headteacher Pepe Di’Iasio applauded “the combination of hard work, determination and dedication of our students, the support of our parents and governors, and the outstanding teaching over time that has enabled almost one in four grades achieved to be at A*- A level, along with 60% of all grades being A* -B.”
He continued: “For the first time ever, two of our students, Ashleigh Weir and Luke Miller, achieved A* grades in all four of their A level subjects, with many other students achieving excellent results too. We are extremely proud of all our students and, following on from these excellent results, we are delighted that all of our students have either secured a place at a university of their choice or have secured a high profile apprenticeship. We are particularly proud to announce that Lewis Waller is to read Earth Sciences at Oxford and Ashleigh Weir is to read English at Cambridge. Congratulations to all our young people we are extremely proud of you all.”
In all, some 92 students will be leaving Wales to go on to Universities from Exeter to Newcastle studying subjects as diverse as Accounting and Zoology.
