Facilities available

We're constantly improving our facilities and courses at both campuses to make sure that our students get the most out of their time with us. It's important to make sure our learners are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to begin their careers, whether that includes higher education or going straight into work.

The Rochdale campus has the fantastic Riverside Salon and Riverside Restaurant, allowing students to gain firsthand experience alongside their studies in high quality facilities used by the public throughout the year. We receive glowing reviews about the effort put in by students here and encourages many people to come back time and time again.

At Middleton, the Hopwood Theatre has proven to be a big success with performances throughout the year and the Sports Park and Arena includes a sport hall, gym, artificial pitches and a range of classes - and it's available for public use!

We also have a purpose built Technology Centre with facilities for engineering, motor vehicle, brickwork and many other building trades courses - as well as a new Annexe for plumbing and plastering - providing excellent environments and facilities for those courses. Our Smallbridge area is also undergoing constant expansion to improve the life sciences provision.

Additional support

Student Support at Hopwood Hall offers a wide range of services for all learners including those with additional needs. Students can access specialist and individualised support to help them maximise their potential whilst at college and beyond.

Who can we support?

We can provide support for students with additional learning needs as clearly identified by a Learning Difficulty Assessment or Education, Health and Care Plan. If you do not have a learning difficulty or disability you can speak to your subject tutor or Student Support Tutor (SST) who will support you on programme.

If a prospective student has significant or complex needs that may require additional staffing or resources then the application will be forwarded to the Local Authority for their consideration.

The college offers a curriculum ranging from Entry Level 1 to Higher Education including the Skills for Life curriculum. Currently there is no curriculum provision for Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

We will attend meetings to support students with transition into college and learners will be assessed on an individual basis.

What support can we offer?

Following an assessment of learning requirements, the Student Support Team will provide an individual plan to meet students’ needs which will be reviewed each term. The types of support we offer could include:

  • Transitional support including individual taster days
  • Weekly tutorials with SSTs to support with employability and personal development

Learner success

We ensure that our students earn more than qualifications during their time with us because there's more to life than that. It's about your passions and dreams, and when this is combined with the right course and great staff, amazing things can happen. While qualifications are incredibly important, so are the skills needed to get a job and achieve your potential. We help you achieve that and some of our former students have gone on to do great things. See for yourself by visiting the following link:
