Welcome to City College Peterborough

City College Peterborough, the new name for Peterborough College of Adult Education, was launched in June 2010. We are a small, friendly, hardworking and committed team of staff and tutors. 

About us

City College Peterborough is at the heart of the Peterborough community. Since being founded in 1944, the College has become the first-choice Peterborough college for adult learners, school leavers, businesses and families. The college is a place where both working and learning is a pleasure. In the context of widening participation, the College continues to provide opportunities for adults and family learning in a variety of locations including secondary and primary schools, community and faith centres around the city. The College employs more than 150 part time tutors and trainers, each specialists in their own area combined with formal teacher/training qualification.

The College is a mixed economy institution providing higher, further, general education and training for adults, children and young people. Taking into account the college nursery and activities in retirement provision, the service truly practises lifelong learning.

Over 10,500 individuals have attended a course or programme in the past year and more and more businesses work with the college to support their business training and development needs.

16-24 Choices

City College Peterborough offers a wide range of programmes to help you get the skills and qualifications you need to improve your career prospects.

Foundation Learning Programme (16-18)

This exciting new programme has been designed to help students study up to a Level 2 qualification. You can choose from practical work based skills or simply gain a qualification while you decide exactly what career path you want to follow.

Apprenticeships (16-24)

Apprenticeships are a great way to get a recognised work-related qualification from Level 2 to Level 4. You will find a wide range of programmes available for you to choose from and combine your studies within a work environment.
