Welcome to Faringdon Community College

Welcome to Faringdon Community College

Faringdon Community College is a popular and successful 11 to 18 mixed comprehensive school, situated on the edge of Faringdon, a small market town in Oxfordshire. The college occupies a large, attractively-landscaped site with an excellent range of specialist facilities.

We are a dynamic organisation, always looking for new ideas and ways to move forward - with great students keen to do well and a strong and motivated staff.

We are proud to be one of the top performing secondary schools in the county, consistently improving our examination results and striving for the highest standards.

We are an 11-18 co-educational secondary comprehensive school, but one which embraces the idea of lifelong learning and community education, hence the title 'Faringdon Community College' or FCC for short.

At our last OFSTED inspection in May 2008 we were rated as an ‘Outstanding School’. We are very proud to have achieved this rating and continually work to develop our standards of achievement: both in the classroom and for the wider development of our students. We are always looking for ways to improve and strengthen our position as one of the top secondary schools in Oxfordshire.

My priorities are simply these: excellent examination outcomes, impeccable behaviour, great teaching and the widest possible range of high quality extra-curricular experiences for all students. With a clear focus and lots of hard work, these things are all achievable and will deliver what I think most parents want: happy children who leave school with plenty of choices available to them and who are well-equipped to cope with the world outside.

About us

Our Ethos & Values

We believe that school should be hard work with the ultimate goal of examination success, but we also believe that it should create feelings of excitement, enjoyment, awe and wonder. School should be an experience to evoke a lifetime of memories and friendships.

Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at FCC aims to provide a challenging and supportive environment where all students are happy and successful in their academic studies.

Aims and Ethos

FCC provides a stimulating environment where students can develop a love of learning, recognising and using their talents to the maximum. It encourages respect for the rights of others and the need to accept responsibilities in creating a caring and supportive environment. As a Sixth Form we will enable our students to experience exciting learning, a chance to study the things around us, the context, people, challenges and activities resulting in transforming us from who we are to who we aspire to be. We continually strive to raise standards and provide young people with the skills to progress to further education or employment.
