Welcome to Hadlow College

About us

Rated outstanding by Ofsted – the only college in Kent to receive such an award – Hadlow College is an LSIS Beacon provider which offers a variety of courses and qualifications designed for a career in the land-based/rural sector.

Located just outside of Tonbridge, with good public transport links from both Tonbridge and Maidstone, students benefit from a variety of facilities including a dedicated equine centre, commercial farm and dairy, horticultural show gardens and a bespoke animal management building which houses over 200 different species.   We are also located within Canterbury and Mottingham (South-East London).

On-site in Tonbridge we have accommodation for 165 students in single room, single-sex blocks. All accommodation is offered on a half-board basis which includes breakfast and either lunch or an evening meal during the week. At the weekend, breakfast is included and lunch is available for purchase should students wish to. On-site we have a dedicated wardening team who offer pastoral activities as well as a schedule of evening events.

Our provision has recently expanded to include sports and outdoor activities and, in 2015, we began working with Charlton Athletic to develop our Football Academy further.

Additional support

Although going to College can be a daunting experience, the support we have should help you quickly settle in and enjoy your time with us.  This was recognised during our last Ofsted Care Standards Inspection where, once again, we received a Grade 1 'oustanding' with no recommendations.

At the start of your course you will be assigned a personal tutor who will guide and monitor you during your time at Hadlow.  In your one-to-one tutorials, which are held regularly throughout the year, you will have the chance to discuss careers, health and social education as well as academic progress.

Students with additional learning needs are supported in a number of different ways.  These include individual learning sessions, specialised computer packages, in-class support, screening for dyslexia and Irlen's Syndrome, providing written material in different formats and accessing special exam requirements.  All of this support is tailored to the student's specific learning needs.
