We are one of the largest  colleges in the  region and are a major provider of education to young people, adults and employers in Leicestershire.

We offer a huge selection of courses and qualifications in hundreds of subjects from entry level to university level with an emphasis on vocational learning as well as academic achievements. Regardless of your needs, interests or circumstances we offer everything an individual or business requires. About us

We have worked hard to achieve and maintain our reputation. With a total learner population of over 22,000, we offer a broad range of subjects from our three Leicester City campuses and over 80 community and other venues.

Our commitment to quality means the College is a regular award winner. We were awarded the AoC Beacon Award for exemplary practice in promoting progression for learners with learning difficulties and or diabilities.

We are members of two National Skills Academy networks in the areas of Food and Drink and Materials, Production and Supply.  As well, we are a member of the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.

One of our most recent accolades is being one of only three College's within the Midlands awarded Gold Acccreditation for providing high quality training for hospitality from leading industry body, the Hospitality Guild.We have also received the first Habia Skills Academy’s (HSA) Centre of Expertise status for our Foundation Degree in Artistic Make-up and Special Effects.

Our Student Services department also have the Matrix Standard, the national quality mark for organisations delivering Information, Advice and Guidance about learning and work, so you can be assured of receiving the best advice about your future.

In addition, as an partnership College of De Montfort University and as a member of the University of Leicester’s Colleges/University Liaison Network , we are able to offer students the benefit of higher education provided through top-quality facilities, within a friendly atmosphere, and where courses can be studied either wholly or in part at Leicester College.

Facilities available

We offer 3 state of the art city campuses with high quality teaching and facilites.

Abbey Park Campus:Our community campus where you can study Sport and Public Services, Sciences, Maths and Humanities, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Business, Performing Arts, Engineering and Music Technology to name but a few.

Freemen's Park Campus: Our vocational campus where you can study Construction, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapies and Hospitality.

St Margaret's Campus: our creative campus where you can study Art and Design, Fashion and Footwear, Mulitmedia and Print, Photography and IT/Computing.

We have a specialist Technology and Engineering Centre and newly opened Motor Vehicle Engineering Centre, a live city centre Performing Arts and Music venue (Sue Townsend Theatre) and a City Skills Centre right in the heart of the Retail district.

 

Additional support

Our Careers Service team can provide you with free and impartial careers advice and guidance as well as support with queries on funding, fees and financial support. Our dedicated team of welfare advisers can alos support you.

We provide additional learning support and 1-1 coaching and mentoring to enable learners to progress and achieve on their courses.

Our Student Union is run by the learners for the learners and allows you to talk and infleunce the College and how it is run.  

Leicester College delivers courses for Pre 16 learners in partnership with local schools and welcomes enquiries from teachers and families who are home educating their children.
