Welcome to Hillcrest School and Sixth Form Centre
Thank you for your interest in The Sixth Form @ Hillcrest.
Our Sixth Form Centre is co-educational and inclusive. We offer a number of 'A' Level and Level 3 vocational courses which are taught by teachers who have expertise in their subjects.
Our recent Ofsted report (October 2013) highlighted that the sixth form was 'good' and that students make progress in line with or above the national average. It was also noted that students results on vocational qualifications are 'outstanding' and that students recieve 'outstanding' information advice and guidance.
We offer a supportive and caring environment and provide high quality teaching and learning. Each student is allocated a Personal Tutor whom they will meet with to review academic progress. A system is in place to ensure that pastoral advice and guidance is always at hand to support students throughout their time in the Sixth Form. Our recent Ofsted report said that "students recieve first-rate information, advice and guidance, which help them to make well-informed decisions about future employment, education and training".
Students are provided with the opportunity to gain additional qualifications through the Enrichment programme every Wednesday. The Extended Project Qualification is available for students in both Year 12 and Year 13 to complete over one or two years. During enrichment, students are taken step by step through their university application and recieve advice and guidance from a range of visiting speakers from higher education, apprenticeships, employment or training. The excellent results that our students achieve, have allowed recent Year 13 leavers to gain places on a wide range of degree programmes including law, physics and international business.
It is hoped that you consider Hillcrest for your Post 16 studies.
Best wishes for the future.

We were extremely pleased with our recent A-Level and Level 3 BTEC results. Again, we achieved a 100% pass rate at A Level for the third consecutive year running.
We use a national bench-marking system referred to as ALPS. This shows how well our students performed on their programmes of study.
In our 2013 results, student performance was graded the following:
- for those who had a combined programme of study with 'A' Levels and BTEC - 'outstanding' student progress.
- student performance on BTEC qualifications alone - 'outstanding' student progress.
- value added quality & breadth score for 'A' Level - 'very good'.
