Facilities available

Our sixth form centre is the hub of 6th form life. We welcome students and visitors in the fully staffed reception which leads to our designated sixth form facilites, including a large study area with laptops and tablets for student use, HE and careers resources, silent study rooms and classrooms as well as a hospitality kitchen for students, locker area and dining areas. Sixth form staff are based in the centre, so that students can always find someone to answer their questions or support them with their study.

JC6 is located at the centre of the HAJC6 campus and so our students have full access to specialist teaching and learning resources for all of their subjects, including science labs, design and engineering workshops, computer suites, extensive sports facilities, dance and drama studios, music rooms and our library,

Learner success

We are proud of our record of results and of the wide range of options taken by our students when they leave JC6.

Nationally published average A level and BTEC results for JC6 in 2016 were amongst the best in Leicestershire and as good as or better than local 6th form colleges.

Many of our students go on to University and College courses. Students who took their A levels in 2016 are now at Universities across the UK and beyond, including Coventry, Warwick, Sheffield, Oxford, Manchester, Swansea, Loughborough, Southampton, Kent...... and studying everything from Medicine to Law, Policing to Fine Art, Midwifery to Computer Games Design.

We also work closely with local employers and the LEBC to support students who choose to move straight from 6th form into apprenticeships and employment. Last year this included students moving into careers in childcare, engineering, retail, leisure and IT.
