Welcome to Oaks Park High School

Oaks Park is a multi-ethnic mixed comprehensive school situated in Newbury Park, Essex. Our history dates back to 2001 and the school has grown quickly, becoming established as a popular and highly successful establishment. We now have over 1500 students at Oaks Park and a large and expanding Sixth Form.
At Oaks Park we place great emphasis on achievement for all and admit students with a wide range of abilities. We are proud of the achievements of all of our students.   We are a truly inclusive school and place great value on the development of positive relationships between students and staff. The ability to work as part of a team is something that will be of great value to students as they prepare for the world of work.
The success of our Sixth Form is a key feature of the school. Large numbers of students leave Oaks Park each year to go to universities across the country.
Although we place great importance on academic studies, we firmly believe in developing the all-round potential of our students. Consequently the school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We place great emphasis on music, with large numbers of students playing a musical instrument. We have also developed an excellent reputation for sport and provide a wide range of student activities.
The success of the school has been recognised with a host of awards. We have just had both our International Schools and Investors in Careers Awards renewed, and as a result of the work of our Travel Green Team, was recently honoured with the title 'School of the Region' for the second time.

About us

Every student who comes to Oaks Park can expect a warm welcome from the Sixth Form Team, the staff and the other students. The fantastic atmosphere and happy, supportive environment are two of the key factors that make this outstanding school so well-loved by students and staff alike.

We constantly strive to help the students develop into young adults who are well-adjusted, well-educated, and who are positive role models in the school and local community. We have an excellent Higher Education record, with the vast majority of our students going to university, many of them being top, Russell Group institutions. Last year some of our students went on to Oxford and Cambridge and we continue to promote an aspirational attitude in the students, helping them to get to wherever they want to get.
We have good links with the Social Mobility Foundation, which aims to help those students from lower socio-economic backgrounds or from families where they will be the first in their family to go to university. We care about all our students, equally. We see them as individuals with different abilities and different needs and we treat them as such.
In essence, it's a wonderful place to be and we look forward to coming to work every day; we hope you join us soon, to experience this unique and very special atmosphere for yourselves.

Facilities available

Our new state of the art Sixth Form block opened in January 2016 and will enable us to increase the number of students that can join our Sixth Form in the future.

The new facilities include a large Independent Study area that is fully equipped and supervised at all times, so that students can maximise their study time.

The new Common Room is a spacious and comfortable area for students to relax and there is a new canteen for their own use.

The Media suite has been developed in conjunction with Channel 4 and provides outstanding opportunities for our students.

There are also new science laboratories, drama studios and classrooms.
