Welcome to Bentley Wood High School
At Bentley Wood High School for Girls we are proud of our fine record of academic achievement within our safe, caring, stimulating environment where pupils learn happily and well. We encourage each girl to develop a wide range of skills and interests, to achieve her personal best and to work co-operatively with consideration for all members of our learning community at all times.
Bentley Wood High School aims to establish a co-operative and stimulating environment in which pupils can learn happily and well. We value all members of the school community equally, seek to develop their skills and abilities, and encourage them to contribute to all areas of school life.
We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for each pupil which will help her achieve her best, develop her confidence and encourage her to be a thoughtful and active member of society. We consider that our aims for our pupils are best achieved through a
close partnership between school and home, and we work together with parents to ensure their daughters' success.

Bentley Wood High School Sixth Form is a popular choice amongst the Harrow Collegiate and is rapidly growing. The Sixth Form is a vibrant and happy community, which aims to build upon the outstanding progress our girls make in the lower school.
In the Sixth Form, girls experience a variety of exciting opportunities to challenge themselves intellectually, as well as help them to develop as individuals. Your daughter will be encouraged to use these two years as a stepping-stone towards the greater freedom of university and adult life.
In the Sixth Form, a wide range of A level courses are offered; taught by well-qualified and enthusiastic subject specialists who have a track record of delivering success. As the new style A levels are introduced, it is likely that students will normally study three A levels in the Sixth Form, accompanied by the Extended Project Qualification.
At Bentley Wood High School, we offer a lot more than academic excellence. During PSHCEE lessons our girls attend seminars tutorials, and educational visits covering issues such as effective study skills, techniques for learning, examination technique and preparing for interviews. Additionally, our Social Mobility programme supports students to become successful in achieving degrees and graduate entry jobs. Whilst for our brightest girls, we have a dedicated programme to support Russell Group university applications; including Oxford and Cambridge.
We also offer help to students who chose to follow an apprenticeship route after A levels. Apprentices work as employees with experienced staff to gain job-specific skills, whilst working towards a number of qualifications and gaining experience. All whilst getting paid.
The Head of Sixth Form, individual tutors and subject teachers play an important part in providing appropriate advice and guidance in supporting each girl’s academic and personal progress.
