Welcome to Uxbridge College

At Uxbridge College we understand that choosing a place to study is a major decision and it involves more than just finding the right course. Social activities are important too, and we can offer you a good range of those, but we also know that you need the right skills to help you in the future. Our courses offer you the opportunity to gain knowledge about your subject and practical experience to prepare you for your next steps, whether you plan to go on to university or into the world of work.

We have continued to invest in developing the College to ensure that you get to study in top quality classrooms, studios and workshops. On the Uxbridge Campus we have just opened our brand new £6m sports and leisure facilities with new sports hall, outdoor multi-use pitches and fitness centre and we are opening a new IT and Media block in September. We have also developed the social spaces on both campuses providing new and improved areas for students to relax in.

We care about getting our students involved and we have a range of exciting activities that you can join in with and most of them are free! We are also keen to hear your views and encourage you to let us know what you think about the College.

If you choose to study with us, you will be pleased to know that you are studying at a successful college. For the fourth year running, we have achieved the top success rates in London for students aged 16-18 studying on full-time qualifications. The College received an outstanding Ofsted inspection and was awarded Beacon status which recognises high quality and successful teaching.

Uxbridge College is all about preparing you for the future that you want and we will support you throughout your time with us. We want you to enjoy your time at college and make the most of your studies to get a great qualification.

Why not come along to one of our Open Days to see the College for yourself and meet some of our staff and students?

Good luck with your future plans and I hope to welcome you to Uxbridge College.

Laraine Smith, Principal of Uxbridge College

A message from the Student Governor

There’s something for everyone at Uxbridge College. It’s not just about study – although the passion your lecturers have for their subjects and the help you get makes that side of college life really enjoyable.

Students get their voices heard at Uxbridge College – if there’s something you want to say, you’ll get a chance to say it. As Student Governor, I take students’ comments and concerns to the highest level of College management. It shows how the student voice can make a difference.

Coming to college instead of staying on at school is a really good step to take between school and university, or whatever else you choose to do. At college the free time and responsibility you get makes you more mature. You’re treated more like an adult.

It’s a really welcoming environment. A lot of people don’t know each other from school when they join college, but you make friends quickly. There are so many opportunities here and you can have a great time as well as succeeding in your studies – it’s what you make of it.

Ismaila Ngum, Student Governor 2010/11
