Welcome to Highbury Fields School

Highbury Fields School is a unique 11-18 girls' school where every child is truly known and recognised as an individual.

Ours is a culturally rich environment within which every girl succeeds. Highbury Fields’ students are highly aspirational and have positive attitudes to their learning and attainment.

About us

“The sixth form is good and students achieve well” – Ofsted 2012

Highbury Fields Sixth Form is part of a consortium (IC6) of four high-achieving Islington schools who work together to provide students with an exceptionally broad post-sixteen curriculum.  IC6 is the most successful ‘A’ level provider in Islington, and has maintained this for the past four years. As well as Highbury Fields Sixth Form, the consortium is made up of Highbury Grove School, St Aloysius School and Central Foundation Boys School. At its last inspection IC6 was graded as "Outstanding" by Ofsted. Please visit the IC6 website,, for more information.

Our students’ performance is rigorously monitored to ensure that each has the best opportunity for personal success.

However, whilst we recognise that academic achievement must be the priority for students at Highbury Fields Sixth Form, we are also mindful that the Sixth Form experience should give students the opportunity to develop into confident and well-rounded young adults, who are ready to face the world.

IC6 at Highbury Fields Sixth Form offers each student a pastoral, future success and careers development programme that is especially tailored for their individual needs and aspirations and which we hope will support all students in.

Additional support

Pastoral Support

It is very important to us that all of our students are supported to reach their full potential and also to enjoy their time as sixth formers. Our Sixth Form tutors, Academic Mentor and Head of Sixth Form are all dedicated to ensuring that students feel happy and confident, both in and out of the classroom.  Weekly pastoral support sessions help students to reflect on their achievements so far and set targets for the future, as well as providing supportive strategies to help students with the transition to the Sixth Form and guide them through any challenging moments.

Learner success

A level success

Students who attend Highbury Fields Sixth Form enjoy considerable academic success. For the last five years the sixth form has achieved a 100% pass rate at A-Level and in 2015, 83% of students were awarded A*-C grades and 52% A*-B grades for their courses.

University destinations

We are very proud that the academic achievements of our students are recognised by some of the very best universities in the country.  In 2015, all students who applied to university were successful in gaining a place on an undergraduate course of their choice. 45% of these places were awarded by Russell Group institutions such as Queen Mary University, London School of Economics and Durham University.
