Hollyfield is a five minute walk from Surbiton train station and there are a number of bus routes with stops just outside the school.
We offer a wide and exciting range of A Levels so we look forward to seeing you soon.
Hollyfield is an 11-18 school and well able to provide a continuous education right through to A-level and BTEC qualifications. In the Sixth Form all teaching is done in groups according to the course being followed. The Sixth Form leadership team and the teaching staff work hard to ensure that each pupil is given the academic and pastoral support necessary to make their school life happy, secure and successful.
The Sixth Form is a small and vibrant community of approximately 230 students. It offers a fully range of A levels include Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French, Spanish, ICT, Media, Business to name but a few. In the Sixth Form, students typically start studying four AS subjects and then drop to three A2 subjects in year 13.
There is a varied extra curricular programme on offer including Music, Drama, Young Enterprise and a range of MFL lessons including Mandarin and Korean, We offer the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme up to Gold, Young Enterprise and the IFS Investors Challenge competition.
The Sixth Form Common Room includes a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a television, comfortable seating, study areas, a dedicated ICT study room and a quiet seminar room for further study. The Sixth Form is well stocked with university prospectuses and reading magazines such as The Week, Focus, The Economist and National Geographic.
A number of subjects make use of mobile learning and as such the school regularly loans iPods to students. Lessons are available as podcasts and a number of subjects make significant use of learning platforms so students can access work, submit work and check on assessments remotely.
We operate a Sixth Form Bursary Fund to support students who qualify. The fund will pay for relevant school trips, text books, revision courses and stationery.
Sixth Form students have gone onto to wide range of universities to study a variety of courses. Recently students have gone onto study Medicine, Dentistry, Maths, Physics, English, Drama, Engineering and Business. The universities that students have obtained places at include Cambridge, Imperial, Royal Holloway, Leeds, Exeter, Warwick, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Brighton and Southampton.
The Sixth Form recognise that not all students want to go to university in the current climate and have successfully supported students onto apprenticeships including Sky, the BBC and Vision.
