Welcome to St Edward's Church of England School & Sixth Form College

Dear Parents, students and friends of St Edward’s,

Welcome to St Edward’s Church of England School and Sixth Form College. Founded in 1710, we have over three hundred years of history. Guided by Christian values, our school provides a safe, caring and happy environment in which our students can learn and develop into well-rounded young men and women.

A Welcome from the Headteacher

I am very proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of St Edward’s Church of England School and Sixth Form College. The school’s ethos and commitment to its students have impressed me since joining in September 2016. This is a really exciting time to be involved with our school.

We are very proud of our school. All that we do is underpinned by Christian values and mutual respect, and the worship at St Edward’s is a key part of our culture. By working in partnership with all of our students and their families we strive to ensure the students’ outcomes are the best that they can possibly be. These honest and trusting relationships are crucial in achieving the success our students deserve.

We endeavour to continually improve our standards and build upon our current strengths. We aim to do this through high-quality learning and teaching. We are proud in making sure we get the best out of students no matter what their background or ability.

The aim for our students is to become highly skilled, confident, articulate young adults, well-placed to succeed in further education and employment, and ultimately to emerge as active members of the community. Striving to unlock the talents of all, we continually challenge students to achieve their best and develop the skills for a lifelong love of learning; it is only through the challenge that students truly discover what they are capable of. No matter where we start in life we recognise that all have the potential to achieve.

This is certainly a warm and happy school where Christian distinctiveness and commitment to study are encouraged.

We hope the information within this website provides you with some additional details about the school that will be helpful to you. We are always happy to show visitors around and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
