Leyton Sixth Form College has exceptionally good facilities for its students, which are purpose-built to ensure that all students have the best working environment. The College has benefitted from a £40 million redevelopment programme, providing the site with industry standard facilities including a theatre, sports hall, TV studio complete with a green screen, fitness suite, dance and drama studios and music rehearsal rooms.
The College has a range of modern facilities to allow students to extend their learning outside lesson times. Newly refurbished open study areas are staffed by experienced and helpful people who are on hand to offer expert advice.
There are up to 90 computers available to book in advance or just drop in. All PCs allow almost unrestricted Internet access plus a range of general and course-specific software, image scanning and full colour or black and white printing. Headphones are available for audio-visual interaction.
To support your independent study, books and electronic resources are available on every conceivable topic. There is also a wide range of classic and modern fiction, subscriptions to all major newspapers and academic journals and an up-to-date selection of movie titles on DVD.
Another place to focus on your work, where dedicated staff will help you to reach your potential by supporting your literacy, numeracy and study skills. You can be referred by your teacher or just ask for whatever help you need in a friendly and supportive environment.
The newly refurbished coffee lounge called Quad Café and hot food area called EAT 10 are open until 2:30pm every day for meals and other refreshments. Vegetarian and Halal meals are included on the menu.
There are also attractive landscaped areas for recreation including a vast college field behind the college and two astroturfs for basketball and football.
The College makes every effort to accommodate the multi-faith needs of the student and staff community wherever possible.
Leyton Sixth Form College aims to provide a site that is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Each building contains access to lifts and disabled toilet facilities. All building entrances are on ground level or have a ramp in place. Individual needs of students are assessed on a regular basis.
Leyton Sixth Form is fiercely proud of its students and staff. Our success rate has been consistently growing each year. In 2015, we achieved a 99.7% A Level pass rate and a 100% pass rate on all Level 3 vocational courses.
