Welcome to Springboard Islington Trust
Springboard Islington has over 30 years experience in training and development. As one of the largest community providers in north London we work with over 1000 young people and adults each year.
Originally set up in 1977, we are now one of the largest community-based learning organisations in north London catering for the skills needs of over 1000 young people and adults each year. We aim, at all times, to offer supportive, high quality learning and development provision tailored to meet the individual needs of participants and enable them to reach their full potential. We are fully committed to the principle and practice of equal opportunities and to meeting the diverse learning, development and employability needs of all the communities we serve. Learners are recruited strictly on the basis of our ability to meet their needs and the eligibility criteria set down by funding bodies. We are accredited provider of vocational training in the areas of Construction, Child Care, Sport and Recreation, and Media. We also offer a wide range of Foundation programme and deliver Functional Skills provision in English, Mathematics and ICT... We provide training and assessment in Key Skills and deliver the GCSE curriculum in English and Mathematics. In addition, we offer learners the opportunity to participate in an extensive range of personal development and enrichment provision including: Football, Sport and Fitness, Music, Art, Dance Drama, and Multi-media. We seek to meet the learning, development and employability needs of our learners through the delivery of government funded E2E Foundation Learning, Train to Gain and Apprenticeship programmes as well as our 14-16 Alternative Curriculum provision. We also deliver specifically targeted provision funded by regeneration and European monies. Springboard Islington operates from four training main centres in the boroughs of Islington and Haringey that are accessible to learners across a wide geographic area of central, north and east London. Both its Derek Higgins Construction centre, Hornsey Road, N7, and its Hornsey centre on Hampden Road N8, contain fully fitted workshops that meet construction industry-training standards. We are a registered charity (no 297630) and company limited by guarantee (no 1899192).
