Welcome to Belvue High School

About us

Belvue is a school for pupils with moderate to severe learning difficulties with additional needs. Each Key Stage has a team of teachers and teaching assistants, led by an Assistant Head. Teachers and HLTAs work towards targets set out for each subject area. in addition, each pupil has their Individual Education Plan (IEP) targets agreed with parents at the annual SEN review meeting, that they need to achieve. Teaching staff teach core curriculum and foundation subjects to classes of up to 12 pupils. The school has a broad currciulum, the core consisting of English, mathematics, science, RE, PE and PSE. In Post 16 students follow a very individualised timetable consisting of core subjects as well as college courses. Before entry into KS4 and sixth form, parents will be consulted about the optional subjects they wish their child to study. Pupils will then study to gain an appropriate qualification in each chosen subject as well as compulsory subjects.
