Welcome to The Holy Cross School
As you browse through this site, and I hope you will take time to do so, you will begin to discover the rich diversity of The Holy Cross School community. Our school, established over 80 years ago with just 5 students, is now a thriving learning community with over 900 students and 100 staff. The ethos of our school which permeates all that we do, was established by The Sisters of The Holy Cross and is enshrined in our Mission Statement ;
” We are the Children of God and in the spirit of St Francis and Mother Bernarda we aim to create a happy family environment in which all may grow: In faith, hope and love for God, in love and respect for one another and the world around us, in learning and wisdom so that we may live life to the full and joyfully share this life with others, especially those who are in anyway disadvantaged.”
The school is blessed with experienced and talented staff who work exceptionally hard to ensure that each individual student makes sustained and substantial academic progress during their 7 years at Holy Cross. Students do well academically and we are proud of their many successes. At Holy Cross we offer students the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities enabling them to increase their self-esteem and confidence so that all their talents can develop and flourish.
'The Holy Cross is a welcoming school in which every member of the community works as one to promote its strong Catholic ethos'. Section 48 May 2013. Our clear Catholic values are explicit and inform all that we do. We are a thriving school and a real community. In working alongside parents as the ‘first teachers’, a Holy Cross education provides the girls with a spiritual compass for life. In an increasingly secular world filled with moral confusion, the principles that the girls develop through their growth within our community, provides a spiritual bearing to guide them through their adult life.
I hope that our website will provide you with an insight into our School community.
