Welcome to Holy Family Catholic School
Holy Family Catholic School and Sixth Form, formerly known as the Holy Family Technology College, is a very popular mixed secondary school with just under 1100 pupils aged 11-19. All pupils are offered every opportunity to expand their knowledge through after school and homework clubs, school visits, etc.
The school has very close partnerships with parents through the Friends of Holy Family, helping to reinforce the Catholic ethos and the partnership between home, school and parish.
The achievements of our students and staff have been praised in a recent Ofsted report. The whole report can be read by downloading it from this link, while the following extract from that report summarises the main points:
Extract from Ofsted report 2014
“Pupils’ and students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a strong feature of the school’s work. This contributes hugely to the sustained good results at the end of Year 11 and to mature young people in the sixth form.
Teaching over time is mostly good and some of it is outstanding. It is underpinned by a strong approach through which teachers and students share a love of learning and this secures good progress for all learners.
Senior leaders, staff and governors are totally committed to the common goal of providing high quality education.
Pupils behave well, underpinned by a common approach which stresses responsibility and kindness towards others as well as towards oneself.”
We are fortunate to have a thriving sixth form centre and we accept applications to our sixth form from our own Yr 11 students and also from students from other schools across the borough who would like to experience their sixth form education in a school based sixth form with a religious ethos.
We hope you find our website both informative and interesting.

THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE SCHOOL
Holy Family Catholic School and Sixth Form is a Catholic community embracing theclear Christian values of respect, service and justice.
We are a family of many cultures sharing one faith.
We exist to educate young people towards excellence in all dimensions of their lives, recognising the uniqueness of each and the equality of all.
We are a rapidly growing Sixth Form with a strong Catholic Ethos, who welcome students from all faiths and backgrounds.
Holy Family Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses, with the majority of our students following an A Level programme of courses. We also offer a small range of one-year Level 2 BTECs which can lead to Level 3 study. Students undertake an extended induction programme to aid the transition to Post-16 study.
The majority of our Yr 11 students return to the sixth form but we are an ‘open access’ centre, who welcome applications from external students. Last year we achieved our best ever results and over 95% of our students progress to university study every year
We also offer a wide enrichment programme, focusing on both personal development and a commitment to community projects, to ensure our students develop life skills beyond the academic sphere. We offer lots of opportunities to develop leadership qualities such as Mentoring younger students, student led clubs and activities and the Senior Prefect team.
At Holy Family Sixth Form, student progress is carefully monitored. We offer strong academic and pastoral guidance through our Form Tutor system, which focuses on small group and one-to-one mentoring.
We boast excellent pastoral support, care and guidance to prepare students for life after Sixth Form, including a focussed UCAS University application programme, summer internships for Year 12 students in professional work environments and additional support for those who wish to enter the world of work directly after their A Level studies.
As a Catholic Sixth Form we are extremely proud of our diverse community of students. If you are ready to work hard and rise to the challenge of Post 16 study we look forward to receiving your application. Please feel free to email us if you have any further questions.
