Welcome to Woodfield School

About us

Woodfield School is an outstanding special school (Ofsted 2008 and Ofsted 2010). In 2009 we became designated as a Specialist Sports College. We are very proud of our achievements and work hard to provide an outstanding curriculum and school ethos for all our pupils.

We have expert staff who understand a broad range of special needs. Our staff is totally committed to providing the best possible education and is skilled at assessing each pupil’s individual level of development and enabling them to move on at their own pace, so they can fulfil their potential regardless of background or circumstances. We have a curriculum that teaches pupils to become independent learners so that as our pupils grow up they become less and less dependent upon support.

We believe ‘Every Child Matters’ and this is high on our agenda as each term we set targets to ensure we are constantly reviewing our practice and seeking to improve what we are doing. We work hard to ensure pupils feel safe in school and we have an active school council where we listen to the concerns raised by our young people.

We feel the involvement of Parents/ Carers is crucial and provide frequent opportunities for Parents to get involved with their child’s learning and progress. We welcome parents at anytime during the school day and will always do all we can to help.
