Welcome to York Learning - City of York Council

About us

At the beginning of 2013 Adult and Community Education, York Training Centre and Future Prospects merged to become York Learning, a new City of York Council service. Our main focus is to support lifelong learning, develop people's skills and qualifications and help those seeking to return to the labour market.

A central point for information and advice on training and education opportunities in the area, York Learning is now based in the Customer Centre, West Offices, Station Rise.

Here at York Learning we aim to provide quality training to enhance potential in the employment market and at any one time we are meeting the needs of over 350 people through our programmes. We work in partnership with a large number of local employers and aim to raise awareness of the importance of skills development and training. This helps employers to develop their business through the retention of skilled staff.

Our work based training activities enable us to support a range of participants, aged from 16 upwards, at all levels of personal and professional development. The range of our activities include:

  • Apprenticeships at all levels
  • Workplace Learning courses
  • Foundation Learning for 16–18 year olds
  • Private training for national qualifications and bespoke courses

Along with our main site in York, we also offer smilar programmes at our site in Selby at Selby Training Centre.
