Welcome to CDC

CDC is an apprenticeship centre wholly owned by Sheffield City Council and recently rated "Good" by OFSTED.  It provides apprenticeship training for a wide range of employers across the Sheffield City Region including delivering all of Sheffield City Council's apprenticeship programmes.

As a Council service, the apprenticeship offer is unique as it supports the Corporate Plan to create thriving neighbourhoods and communities, tackle inequalities whilst boosting the economy.

As such we will help any young person that wants to look for an apprenticeship and put them forward for vacancies, help with writing CVs and provide short employability courses with work experience, leading to guaranteed interviews

Our centre is at Manor Lane next to the Kier site, 1 mile from the City Centre, a 15 minute walk from Sheffield train station and has a tram stop.

The centre has recently been refurbished and has a number of bright classrooms, fully kitted out with IT equipment and interactive whiteboards.  It also has some specialist workshops for bricklayers, painters, roofers and carpentry.

Our June 2017 OFSTED inspection stated “Tutors and assessors develop positive and constructive relationships with employers which results in good apprenticeships and stimulating work experience opportunities.  Consequently, apprentices and learners develop good practical and work related skills"
