Learner success

Sam Heath first heard about the Learn4Work course after trying to get an apprenticeship and being unsuccessful.

It was then suggested to Sam by the council that he should go to the recruitment day and see what it was all about and what opportunities may be available for Sam.

Sam met the Learn4Work team at the event and we suggested that he should look into the Foundation Learning course.

Sam came onto the the course to give him a good base of qualifications and experience of coaching sports sessions. He also needed to build up his confidence when coaching and learnt different methods of controlling groups of people.

After doing the course Sam has now gone on to an apprenticeship in activity leadership. On the course he did his numeracy and literacy at level 1. He did a number of qualifications including NVQ level 1 in sport and active leisure, first aid and as gained the experience he needs.
