Welcome to Highworth Grammar School
With our outstanding reputation as a school that is caring and aims to deliver the best possible education to all of its students in a safe and secure environment, Highworth is no ordinary school.
While we pride ourselves on our well established traditional values, academic achievement and high quality care, we are also an innovative school and are constantly looking to find ways of improving what we do.
We also aim to encourage the view that education is a ‘lifelong’ not a ‘once and for all’ activity. It is therefore important that students are given the skills to work co-operatively, independently, creatively and nurture a well balanced approach to risk taking and problem solving.
The education of your daughter is a shared responsibility and we look forward to working in partnership with parents to provide the best possible education. Highworth is a creative and successful school that offers exciting challenges.
Highworth values sixth form students and recognises the vital role they play in the life of the school. We also recognise how important it is for individual talents and needs to be met so that students prosper and flourish in an exciting, challenging, supportive environment where they feel a significant member of the community. We aim to encourage students to develop a personal and independent approach to learning that will enrich their lives, whether they choose to go on to Higher Education or to find employment. Highworth Sixth Form is a great place to be. Students thrive academically and enjoy the day-to-day challenges and opportunities the school offers.
Students are encouraged to take part in the full life of the school. There are many opportunities to take on positions of responsibility, play a vital role in our vertical tutoring system or organise fund raising events for the many charities we support. The emphasis is strongly placed on developing the strengths and talents of all our students so they can leave Highworth as independent, creative and well balanced individuals. Our aim is to encourage the view that education is a ‘lifelong’ and not a ‘once and for all’ activity.
As Sixth Formers you are role models within school and as such, exemplary behaviour is expected of you. The published school rules and regulations still apply to you and failure to meet our expectations will be dealt with accordingly. Events, positive and negative, are logged within our school SIMS system, and are able to be viewed by parents as well as staff.
