The transition to Post-16 education can be a challenging time for many young adults with so much to consider. It is important that the correct choice is made for every young person.
The Lenham School Sixth Form aims to create a friendly and focused environment in which students are encouraged to develop a sense of independence and take responsibility for their studies. The Sixth Form students pride themselves on being leaders for Lenham School students
as well as being an integral part of the whole school. Students have the opportunity to take a lead for the whole school with a number of leadership opportunities.
Students have career lessons designed to promote and aid university, college or job applications. We have an increasing number of our Sixth Form students successfully moving on to Higher Education and the Sixth Form Tutor team fully supports students
applying through UCAS.
We provide various enrichment opportunities, including a structured PSHEE programme, Leadership and Mentoring opportunities, careers guidance, Duke of Edinburgh and becoming an Apple Teacher as well as a number of recreational activities such as bowling.
The Sixth Form at The Lenham School has grown this year and is continuing to expand. We regard it very much as the culmination of the educational experience we offer at the school and our expectation and hope is that students will wish to complete their
school careers with us or begin a whole new academic career with us.
The Sixth Form years are important in shaping future careers and education and we place importance on students’ academic achievement, increasing their self-confidence and developing a sense of community responsibility.
Above all, the Sixth Form is about helping you to realise your potential, whatever it is. We want our Sixth Formers to be successful and happy, whether this is success at University entrance, in your chosen career or in developing your wider potential.
16 education is a vital journey in a young adult’s life.
