Valley Park Sixth Form aims to provide an outstanding learning experience and to prepare students for the future demands of Higher Education and the workplace. Although our high level of academic success is a key feature, the Sixth Form works equally hard to help you develop your skills, character, and levels of independence. We take care to create an environment which has rigorous expectations and to provide students with everything necessary to be successful.
Our 2017 results were outstanding. The A Level pass rate was 100% with 87% achieving A*-C grades with 64% at A*/A.
When applying to our Sixth Form, you will be expected to choose between a variety of pathways that have been designed to accomodate all of our students and their learning goals. We aim to create a timetable with your subject preferences, typically choosing three academic or vocational subjects. Our subject offer is across the federation of Valley Park School and Invicta Grammar School. You may choose to study just at Valley Park or combine your subject choices with those at Invicta Grammar School.
Please ensure that when choosing subjects across the federation the maximum amount of subjects you can choose at Invicta (IGS) is two.
In our Sixth Form we pride ourselves on the opportunities we offer students to be individuals. Our Information, Advice and Guidance programme offers students the opportunity to have access with an in house qualified career adviser, as they need, to make their individual plans for the future.
Our Sixth Form centre provides students with a base where they can relax, socialise and complete group study sessions in a non formal setting. In addition, our award winning library and private study area provides space for students to work quietly on their individual academic requirements and is recognised as being a stepping stone to the facilities offered at university.
