Welcome to TwentyTwenty
Helping 11-24 year olds who aren’t at school or college and haven’t got a job. Yet!
Our Post16 projects work with young people aged 16-24 who need support to develop the skills necessary to move on to further education, training, apprenticeships, or employment. We believe that deep down all young people want to become successful young adults. It’s just finding the way forward.
The Pre16 project provides an expert service to schools that want to engage their hard to reach pupils more successfully. We provide off site small group and one-to-one tuition and support for 11-16 year olds struggling to get on in school, or at risk of being excluded. We aim to inspire young people about learning and empower them to make positive progress in their education.
Our Lifeskills Centres are places where these young people can get the education and specialist help they need. First of all, we listen and find out why they are struggling. Then we work out how we can best help. We don’t judge or criticise. We treat each person as an individual; there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. This is important because each young person has different needs, talents, and goals. We simply aim to provide young people with the qualifications, skills and self belief they need to transform their lives.
We are a registered City and Guilds and NOCN educational centre. Because of the quality of the information advice and guidance we offer young people, we have been awarded the Matrix Standard.
We have two Lifeskills Centres in Loughborough, and are soon opening one in Leicester City too!
We have two additional programmes that you can access alongside your educational programme. These are:
Love4Life - for self-esteem, sexual health, realtionship advice and much more.
Mentoring - for those who would like an adult mentoring you 1-2-1, doing various activities once a week for a year, and helping you with various aspects such as applying for the next step, writing a CV or just a listening ear.
Most of our learners join us with very few or no qualifications, or need support to improve their grades. Many of them go on to do Level 2 or 3 courses at Mainstream FE colleges, or go into apprenticeships or jobs.
Our success is 96% this academic year (2012/13) so if you put your mind to it you will succeed!!
