At Sussex Coast College Hastings, we have many years’ experience of successfully delivering a range of academic and vocational programmes.
We are the A Level provider for Hastings, Bexhill and Rother, with continued success in delivering A levels. Based at our Station Plaza campus, our Sixth Form has the benefit of being in a wider, brighter college environment where you will be treated like an adult. Our courses are delivered in a friendly and exciting way by Sixth Form specialists, with over 20 AS/A Levels to choose from. Students from the Sixth Form have gone on to study at top institutions in the UK, Europe and the United States.
We offer a variety of vocational courses from pre-entry to advanced level. They will give you the skills and knowledge for a particular area of work, combining practical skills with academic theory. We have been awarded ‘Centre of Vocational Excellence’ status, providing courses in the following areas:

- Hair and Beauty
- Health and Social Care
- Hospitality and Culinary Arts
- Information and Creative Technologies
- Public Services
- Travel and Tourism
We offer apprenticeships in various subject areas, which give you the opportunity to learn on the job with an employer, building up knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications and earning money at the same time. Our huge choice of courses is only a part
of what Sussex Coast College Hastings has to offer. We’re a lively, caring College where you will make new friends and have lots of fun, whilst receiving all the help and support you may need – from financial advice to the guidance of a personal tutor, and,
should you need it, the very best additional support available in the area.

We believe that personal and social development is an important part of being at College and we provide tremendous opportunities for our students as part of their programme of study, which enhances both their skills and their employability.

Station Plaza campus:
Located next to Hastings town centre, our large, light-filled atrium is surrounded by 22,000 square meters of study space and social zones. Classrooms are equipped with the most up-to-date resources and interactive whiteboards. It houses multiple IT suites, a gym, Coast coffee, Subway, Coast Restaurant, a training kitchen, a professional salon, an art shop, diner and a large Learning Resource Centre.
Ore Valley campus:
Less than a mile away, our Ore Valley campus takes under a minute by train from Hastings Town Centre and has 7,000 square metres of realistic working environments, workshops and ‘live build’ areas. In the central atrium, students construct, wire, plumb, fit-out and decorate a full-size house. Students here have access to the latest equipment and digital technology, a Learning Resource Centre, a sports pitch, diner and coffee shop.
At both campuses, students have 24/7 access to lessons and learning resources from home via WIKI, podcasts and teacher/student blogs. Students can hire laptops from the LRCs and both sites are WIFI activated.
Automotive Training Centre
The Automotive Training Centre offers hands-on training and qualifications in all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. The centre is located on the Northridge Industrial Estate, has IMI (Institute of Motor Industry) awards accreditation and approval to deliver various levels of Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair programmes and apprenticeships at levels 2 and 3. This centre is equipped to allow you to learn working in a realistic working environment. The training centre, supported by Snap-On, has all the latest equipment needed for you to train as a technician in the industry.
Additional Learning Support
At college, our Additional Learning Support team can help give you the best chance of success. We recognise that each student has very different needs and will provide you with the support and encouragement you need. Our experienced team will work with you to help remove obstacles that prevent you from learning, to ensure a positive outcome – just come and talk to us about any learning needs you may have, for example:

We work closely with the East Sussex Local Safeguarding Children Board to make sure that all young people are protected from any kind of abuse. We have a designated team of staff to protect our students and actively promote safeguarding.
