Welcome to Stoke Damerel Community College

The Stoke Damerel Sixth Form supports and develops you as a young adult. You will
have the opportunity to learn new skills and take on new challenges. At the end of
Sixth Form our students leave as well-rounded individuals.
As well as taking A Levels, BTECs, OCR Nationals, NVQs, Vocational qualifications
and GCSEs all Sixth Form students attend other timetabled sessions.
Each week you will attend a tutorial with your personal tutor. During this time your
progress will be discussed to make sure you achieve your very best. You might also
study for a work related qualification or, AS Extended Project, during this time. You
might also have timetabled for study support. If you are aiming for top grades, would
like help revising or with coursework or need support with your work you should
attend this study support.
Sixth Form students attend college fulltime and are able to use the study rooms in
the Sixth Form building during the times you do not have timetabled classes.
In the following pages we explain each qualification and what you should consider to
help you choose the best course for you.
What courses can I follow?
There are 3 pathways that you can follow in the Sixth Form.
• A Level Pathway
• Level 3 Pathway
• Vocational Pathway
If you study vocational courses, some of your time will be spent with a training
provider, some doing work experience as well as lessons at Stoke Damerel.
