Welcome to Ringwood School Academy

Learning lies at the heart of everything we do. Students are encouraged to engage with a rich, diverse and personalised curriculum, one which promotes challenge, interest and the spirit of enquiry.

The learning environment at Ringwood is innovative and creative. We pride ourselves on the caring nature of our teachers who regularly provide positive feedback to empower students of all abilities to move forward with their own learning and achieve their full potential.

Ringwood School’s sixth form offers a friendly, caring environment in which some 340 students achieve the highest standards in their work while also benefiting from a variety of other activities and opportunities. The sixth form is a well-established part of an oversubscribed 11-18 A National Teaching Academy described by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in 2008 and 2013.

About us

Ringwood School offers a variety of  programmes of study available over one, two, or in some cases, three years, enabling students of varying abilities to select a combination of courses best suited to their needs.

Most students take four subjects to AS Level in the first year and three to full A Level standard in the second year. Some may take more than four subjects – our most successful students have attained A grades in as many as five A Levels and one AS Level.

Others may be advised to take fewer than four subjects for just one year, augmenting their studies with relevant work experience.

Courses may involve fieldwork, practicals, visits abroad, theatre trips, concerts, drama productions or sports coaching qualifications.

For those who want a more practical approach there are BTEC courses in Production Arts ,Sport and ICT.

Additional support

Highly-specialised advice and facilities are available to students of all abilities through the Student Support department. Provision depends on the requirements and backgrounds of students but can range from diagnostic screening to examination support.
