Welcome to Eaton Bank Academy

Eaton Bank Academy is a dynamic and high achieving 11-19 school serving a wide catchment area covering approximately half of the town of Congleton as well as surrounding areas. We have high expectations of our students, and they consistently exceed national averages for results at all Key Stages, although we are not complacent and are able to demonstrate continuing improvement, with record results for the town in 2013.

The School was founded in 2000 after the re-organisation of secondary education in Congleton took place. It created two 1100 strong, 11 – 18 high schools from the three former schools in the town. Eaton Bank School succeeded in acquiring Academy status in 2012 and opened under the new name, Eaton Bank Academy on 1st September 2012.

Expectations, morale and professional commitment among staff are extremely high. Our culture is absolutely ‘student-centred’ and all staff, when appointed, make a commitment to upholding this principle. We have an active and comprehensive programme for moving teachers forward in their professional practice, which includes the appointment internally of ‘Creative Coaches’; outstanding teachers who work with others to develop the range and quality of their teaching styles, all with a view to providing the highest quality and most effective learning experiences possible.
