Welcome to Colne Community School
Attending the Colne College will take you to the next stage in your education and ultimately your future. The experience you receive at the Colne College will be a holistic experience, which will include teaching and learning in small groups, individual academic mentoring with Learning Coaches, experiences of higher education institutions, application procedures to higher education, as well as careers advice and support.
We have established very strong links with our neighbouring universities – the University of Essex, University Campus Suffolk, and the Anglia Ruskin University With the transition comes the expectation that students will take on roles of responsibility within the School and College. These may be as part of the College Council, or in fulfilling the roles of Head Boy and Head Girl, as part of the College Student Leadership Team. You may also become part of the Peer Mentoring Team.
The aim of the College Academy is to foster academic excellence through a tutorial programme and personal mentoring. The specific focus is on AS and A Level courses (or their equivalents) and exams and preparation for Further/Higher Education and the world of work.
