The Sixth Form at Range High School offers opportunity and possibility to its current and prospective students; from a varied curriculum including ‘A’ level and BTEC courses at Level 3 through to an array of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. If you choose to join our Sixth Form we will work with you to enable you to develop your interests and abilities, as well as to fulfil your potential. We are proud of our students, past and present and it is a privilege to experience on a daily basis their successes, achievements and contributions to the wider community.
Range High School has a track record of academic success, offering a diverse approach to teaching and learning provided by specialist staff. We aim to maximise student potential through independent subject learning beyond the classroom. We provide a selection of ‘A’ level courses and BTEC qualifications taught in small classes averaging between 10 and 15 students. We support a cohort of students with specialised Oxbridge preparation and provide extensive assistance with university and employment applications. In 2013 students achieved 99% pass rate, progressing to university to study a range of subjects including: Law, Aerospace Systems Engineering, Dentistry, Biochemistry, French and Italian, Children’s Nursing, Geography, Business and Economics, Computing, Events Management, Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE), Mathematics, Psychology, History and English, as well as gaining apprenticeships and moving into employment.
Range High School has a long history of outstanding, personalised pastoral support. We aim to ensure that all students take part in tutorials, study support sessions and are treated as individual learners. We provide an innovative enrichment programme as well as a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Some of the opportunities on offer include, Extended Project, Italian, community placements in local primary schools, libraries and charity shops, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Culture Club, sporting fixtures, ‘Meet the Professionals’ conference, visits and trips abroad, as well as opportunities to work as departmental ambassadors and with lower school pupils in a variety of capacities.
