Welcome to John Kyrle High School & Sixth Form Centre

The John Kyrle High School is a fully comprehensive 11-18 community school which prides itself on being a centre of academic excellence, providing a caring environment, where challenge and support, achievement and encouragement go hand in hand.

In partnership with parents, governors, business and the wider community, we strive to enable every child to fulfil their true potential.

Our aim at John Kyrle is to provide all pupils in our care with a desire and clear path to achieve academic success.

We strive to reach our aim by creating a climate of high quality teaching, firm but fair discipline, below average class sizes and a caring pastoral system.

At this stage in Year 11 you will be considering your possible options. The one which makes the most sense for an increasingly large number of you from John Kyrle and other schools will be to join us in the Sixth Form. The Course Summaries booklet plus letters from the Head Boy and Head Girl and the Head of Sixth Form (at the bottom of this page) are designed to give you as much information as you need about Years 12 and 13 and the possible courses. Read it and think things over. Talk to your parents. Talk to your Tutor. Talk to people you know in the 6th Form already. Talk to the staff who’ll take your courses. Talk to Mr Wallace or any of the 6th Form Tutors. This is your future, so think carefully before you make your decision.

How to apply

If you want to apply for courses, you will need to contact John Kyrle High School & Sixth Form Centre directly.
