Learner success

Ofsted Inspectors have published their latest Monitoring Report for Barnfield College (16 January 2018) which confirms the achievement of learners is "improving rapidly". Leaders' actions to improve teaching have resulted in "demonstrable progress" as indicated by the increased achievement rates of study programme learners during the previous year.

It was also found that the majority of learners develop good practical vocational skills, particularly in workshop session, and most adult learning teachers use highly effective teaching techniques to enable learners to make good progress, with a good provision for high needs learners ensures that most achieve and make good progress.

A Barnfield College spokesman stated: “Our top priority is to ensure that our students have a consistently good learning experience so they can fulfil their potential.

“The report highlights many areas of good practice and key strengths...[and] we are working closely with the FE Commissioner’s Office and the ESFA to ensure we move forward swiftly and continue to provide the learners and communities of Luton with a high-quality learning provision.”
