Welcome to the Chelmsford College Group website, which has information on everything you will need to know to make an informed decision about your training and education.

Whether you are about to leave school, want to study part-time to improve your skills or would like to get onto an Apprenticeship programme, we want you to know that Chelmsford College Group can help.

We are a general Further Education college offering a variety of courses, both vocational and professional courses.

We are based across two main campuses - Moulsham Street and Princes Road. Our facilities have been redeveloped in recent years and we now boast a brand new Electrical and Engineering block, a new Art, Design and Media centre, as well as new welcome areas on both campuses, complete with internet cafes and landscaped outside areas for students to relax and socialise. Our third campus, based in Chelmsford City Centre, houses our Hair & Beauty facilities - Lee Stafford Academy.

The quality and choice of courses on offer and the results we obtain makes Chelmsford College amongst the highest in Essex and East Anglia.

Facilities available

We have an extensive range of facilities available to our students, which have been modernised and brought up-to-date with the latest technologies and comforts.

Offered across both main campuses - Moulsham Street and Princes Road - there is a Refectory, Internet Cafe, Learning Centre, Assessment Centre and Tutorial Centre. With a Copyshop, Sports Centre, Skills Development Centre and Hub at Moulsham Street and a Learning Centre at Rainsford Road.

Everyone is given access to the College Intranet and has an email account allocated to them to keep up-to-date with everything that is happening within Chelmsford College Group.

    • Our Moulsham Street campus has everything you would expect from a modern, well-equipped college campus - and much more besides. Here you will find excellent facilities for work, study and relaxation, laid out over a four-floor site with car parking and good links to buses. 

      The campus offers the highest quality teaching and support within a relaxed, student-focused atmosphere. Our facilities have been redeveloped in recent years and we now boast a new Art, Design and Media centre, as well as a new welcome area with internet cafe and landscaped outside area for students to relax and socialise.

      In addition to Art & Design and Media, our Moulsham Street campus also houses our Childcare and Health & Social Care departments; Applied Science and Extended Learning departments; Sport and Public Services departments. As well as Business, IT and Travel & Tourism.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, Skills Development Centre, Assessment Centre, Tutorial Centre, a Copyshop and Refectory. Situated on the grounds of this campus are Dovedale Nursery and Dovedale Sports Centre.

    • Our Princes Road campus houses many of our practical vocational areas. Laid out over a two-floor site with car parking and good links to buses, the campus boasts a new Electrical and Engineering block.

      A new welcome area with internet cafe, refectory and conservatory area for students to relax and socialise are also available.

      In addition to Electrical and Engineering, our Princes Road campus also houses our Construction workshops and Hospitality and Catering kitchens, with our Princes Room restaurant open to the public.

    • The Lee Stafford Hair and Beauty Academy is based in the city centre on Rainsford Road. It is home to our Hair and Beauty departments that are run in partnership with the famous Essex hairdresser. 

      It has everything you would expect from a modern, well-equipped hair and beauty salon - and much more besides. Here you will find excellent facilities for study with teaching facilities in both hair and beauty and two classrooms equipped with the latest technology, as well as an enjoyable and relaxing experience for the clients. Laid out over three floors, the campus is a short walk from the main bus station and railway station and even houses a 20m catwalk/runway which are used for our Hair & Beauty end of year shows.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, a silent study area and a break out area for students to relax and socialise.
