Welcome to Blatchington Mill School and Sixth Form College

There are many things that make it an excellent place for you to study and learn, but most important for your success are the high quality teachers, lecturers and tutors, the bespoke and tailored style of learning with small class sizes, and the caring and friendly atmosphere built by our student community

We have highly knowledgeable teachers that are specialists in teaching in all subjects and in the university and job application processes. What sets them apart from other colleges is the way in which, along with your personal tutor, they take time to get to know each student, how they learn, and their aims and aspirations.

Class sizes are average – on a par with private schools or colleges. This simply means more access to the teacher, better feedback on your learning and the chance to achieve your best in a supportive learning environment.

We use a fully digital work hand-in process, meaning you have access to the resources you need to learn from anywhere with an internet connection, and the ability to hand your work in online. We will prepare you for the modern world, and encourage you to learn and work independently, making that step up from school easy and successful.

As a result of the quality of provision, students make fantastic progress at our Sixth Form. By the time they leave they have the grades they need, the skills and confidence to thrive, and great friends and memories.

If you want to come to a Sixth Form where you’re not just another student but a valued individual – then apply to join Blatch Six.

About us

Sixth Form education is part of the path to future careers, earnings and wellbeing. It is the responsibility of a Sixth Form to help you make the choices that will provide you with successful outcomes to achieve future goals in terms of higher education and employment.

At Blatch Six, we are proud of our very strong record where our students leave achieving the destinations of choice. Last year, 70% of leavers went on to further study in the UK or abroad and 20% on to apprenticeships and employment.

Students regularly go on to a wide range of courses, from Biomedical Sciences to Politics, as well as more practical and vocational paths, such as Midwifery and Stage Management. We also have a strong record in the creative arena such as Fashion and Musical Theatre.

Whether you decide to move into the world of work directly from Sixth Form or after further study, as part of post 16 education at Blatch Six you will be given the opportunity and encouragement to gain employability skills, which will provide you with the best possible chances for your future.

Blatch Six is organised into three Schools – School of Business, School of Creative Arts and School of Social Science - to enable students to benefit most from the expertise of the specialist teaching staff. The staff will guide you through with their academic excellence and in depth subject knowledge.
