Welcome to Lucton School

Lucton is a small and very friendly co-educational day and boarding school situated in beautiful rural Herefordshire. Our location means that we are able to provide excellent on-site sports facilities, including a first-class heated indoor swimming pool and sports hall complex. Uniquely for the area, we also have our very own equestrian centre, where students can stable their own horses if they wish.

Lucton School has an open Sixth Form, catering for students of a wide range of ability and interests. We are, however, committed to achieving excellence, and both our exceptional A-level results and our unbroken record of success in helping every student who has wished to go to university to secure a place speak for themselves. Small A-level classes (typically between 5 and 10 students), talented teachers and a dedicated Sixth Form tutorial team create a caring and supportive environment that ensures all our students have the very best opportunity to succeed.

In addition to academic excellence, we encourage our students to achieve outstanding levels of performance in music, drama and sport, and offer them many opportunities to develop the personal and leadership skills valued by universities and employers alike. Moreover, Lucton has a flourishing CCF which provides yet further opportunities for personal growth and development. Our boarders come from around the globe and provide local students an unparalleled opportunity to meet and befriend young people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The Lucton Sixth Form is housed in its own area of the school.

Our Sixth Formers have dedicated private study facilities and a comfortable common room equipped with a kitchenette, television and leisure activities, such as games consoles (for those times when they have earned a little rest and recuperation!). Although Lucton is a private school, we take our charitable status and responsibility to the local community very seriously indeed. Bursarial support is widely available and able students can apply for scholarships that are worth up to 100% of the school fees. School transport is also available from all places within the surrounding area. As you can see, we believe we have much to offer and we are more than happy for students to visit us. So please feel free to come for a taster day and meet our wonderful Sixth Formers and dedicated and enthusiastic staff; see for yourself that the Lucton Sixth Form is right for you!
