Facilities available

Excellent facilities provide our young people great support in developing life-long learning skills. Our school benefitted from inclusion in the Building Schools for The Future project and as a result we have state of the art buildings & facilities, providing 21st Century learning enrichment, equipped throughout with access to the latest ICT infrastructure and digital media technologies.

Most recently our Post 16 facilities have been enhanced with its own dedicated Post 16 Learning Centre which contains Teaching and Learning areas as well as additional ICT facilities and a well resourced common room.

Additional support

At 16 East, we are committed to high quality careers education, information, advice and guidance. We have a dedicated Post 16 careers adviser who works with all our students 1 to 1 in both year 12 and 13, offering additional support when needed.

A tailored in school programme supports the process of university entry and apprenticeship applications. The school uses Unifrog, an online platform to help students make informed choices about their futures. It is aimed at both apprenticeship and university applications and allows students to use data to decide which route to choose after school, thus avoiding common decision-making mistakes. Teachers can also use Unifrog to track students’ progress. In addition, our Enrichment programme includes activities centred on work related learning and personal development to ensure progression for future career development.
