Welcome to Eirias High School

A Message from Conwy’s Chief Education Officer

Dear Learner,

You are coming to the end of your compulsory schooling and entering an exciting phase of your life. The decisions you make over the next few months will be some of the most important and enduring. Some of you will find it easy to make these decisions - you may know exactly what you want to do in the future. Others will find it more difficult.

While many of you may choose subjects offered by your home school, some of you may wish to study another course which your school does not offer.

Some of you may even find there is a clash of subjects on your timetable and rather than settle for second choice you now have the chance to follow your preferred subject at another centre.

If you study a course elsewhere there will be close monitoring of your progress and regular updates provided to your home school.

All centres have excellent facilities for sixth formers and you can be sure of a warm welcome and ready support wherever you go. Learners who have studied a course at college or another school have enjoyed the experience and change.

LINC Conwy was formed in September 2011 between the 7 High Schools in Conwy and Coleg Llandrillo with the main purpose of working together to offer all post-16 learners more choice. Its success is recognised in learners’ examination results that continue to improve.

I hope that the information in this prospectus is useful and helps you to make a decision about the courses you would like to study.
