Welcome to St Cenydd Community School

St Cenydd Community School Sixth Form is one of the largest Sixth Forms in the Caerphilly Basin. As well as welcoming back a large number of our Year 11 students each year, we are also pleased to welcome students from other local schools. Students here have access to 18 different A Level subjects as well as a wide range of AS, A level and BTEC courses on offer at five other educational institutions as part of the Caerphilly Basin Schools’ Partnership.

Our academic record is among the best in the local authority, with a high proportion of our students gaining grades A* to B, and over 70% of our students progressing to Higher Education each year. Provision of the Welsh Baccalaureate allows our students to enhance their skills while gaining an additional qualification that has proven to be very valuable in gaining university offers. Indeed, last year over 90% of our students gained a place at their first choice university.

We have a dedicated team of staff, who are always willing to teach, support, guide and advise our students on their chosen path. In addition, the Sixth Form Management team is always on hand to offer advice, guidance and pastoral care.

Most students will study 4 subjects at AS level, plus the Welsh Baccalaureate, with the majority of students progressing to 3 subjects at A level, plus the Welsh Bac.
