Welcome to Northumberland CofE Academy

The Sixth Form at NCEA caters for learners aged 16-19. Every learner is valued and makes progress as a result of high expectations and a personalised pathway tailored towards their future ambitions.

Since opening in September 2009, achievement has increased dramatically. In 2012 the A Level pass rate was 99.3% compared with 91% in 2009. This included 26% A*-A grades.

A broad range of options are available to suit the needs of all learners. This includes an increasing number of A Level subjects. In 2013, 55.6% of year 13 learners are holding offers of university places, many being at the very best universities in the country.

In addition to A Level and vocational qualifications the sixth form provides learners with a wide range of enrichment opportunities including Extended Project, Arts Award, work experience, university visits, an annual London trip, and NCEAsport which allows learners to achieve coaching badges in a variety of sports.

We expect every learner to achieve and enjoy sixth form life. We aim to raise aspirations and encourage every learner to be the best they can be.
